Scholarships

Whole Earth Nature School is proud to offer need-based scholarships to families who would like to attend our nature programs. We have generous award thresholds and encourage anyone to apply! The application only takes a few minutes after you register for programs with a small, refundable deposit.

Scholarships are available for a 25% or 50% discount off program tuition and may depend on scholarship fund availability. Qualified scholarships are awarded on a first-come first-served basis.

Scholarship Review Period for Summer ’25: February 1 – February 15.

How to Apply

Online Application and registration

  1. Click the button above and fill out our scholarship application form ahead of your registration.   OR 
  2. Register for the camps you would like using any registration button on our website.
  3. EITHER WAY – Do not pay the full tuition upon checkout. Only pay the 12% deposit (refundable if your scholarship application is not approved). This option includes an installment plan with automatic bill pay.
  4. If your application is approved, your remaining balance will be adjusted to reflect the new price. 
  5. If you have not already filled out your application, the link to the form can be found in your registration confirmation email. 
    • Note: for Equity Project schools, the scholarship has already been applied against the program cost so you do not need to fill out the application.
  6. You will receive notice of your award within two weeks of us receiving your application. For those who apply ahead of registation (especially for summer camps) we will do our best to inform you before registration opens.
    • Follow any additional instructions that may be listed in your email.
  7. If an award is not granted, you may still choose to stay enrolled and pay the full price OR you can choose to cancel your registration for a FULL refund. 

Your spot will be held for up to two weeks (or up to one week prior to the start of the program, whichever comes first) while we wait to hear from you if you would like to remain enrolled or not. If you do not reply that you would still like the spot within that timeframe, we will automatically issue a refund of your deposit and give that spot to another participant.

Deadlines

SUMMER NATURE CAMPS:

We are now encouraging scholarship applications before summer camp registration opens. Please submit your scholarship application at least one week prior to the day camps open for registration. If you apply after registering for camps, we may still be able to award your scholarship. Awards are granted on a first come  – first serve basis and we have limited resources to work with so apply now for your best opportunity! 

SCHOOL YEAR NATURE PROGRAMS:

All scholarship applications for our school year nature programs must be received a minimum of seven days prior to program start in order to allow time for processing. 

If your application is received later, there may be an additional up-front cost burden to you while we process your application before we are able to issue refunds.

Limitations:

Please note that in order to make scholarships available to the greatest number of families we have implemented the following limitations. Each student may receive scholarships for up to three of the program options during one calendar year:

  1. The discount only applies to tuition for the camp or program and does not apply to material fees or aftercare.
  2. A recipient can get up to two weeks of summer day camps (and may include one week of overnight camp)
  3. The scholarship can apply to either One Coyote Kids program per semester OR one FOREST program per year (either FOREST or FOREST Understory).
  4. Any number of Winter Break/Spring Break single-day camps or one week-long camp.
